Namal Rajapaksa MP takes oaths as Attorney at Law today

Sri Lanka President's son Namala Rajapaksa, MP for Hambantota district, will take oaths as an Attorney-at-Law Thursday.

Following his father's footsteps, the 25-year-old parliamentarian is to take oaths as a lawyer tomorrow morning at the Supreme Court before a tri-member bench of Supreme Court judges headed by Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake.

Around 250 students qualified as lawyers are in the process of taking oaths in Supreme Court as batches of around 60 a day, judiciary sources say.

Namal Rajapaksa was elected to the parliament with highest number of preferential votes in 2010 from Hambantota district. 














Legislator Namal Rajapaksa, Member of Parliament took oaths today before the Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranaike and two other Judges of the Supreme Court today. President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa proud parents of Namal were witness the ceremony in the Supreme Court.
